Türk Altinkum |
Along the Aegean coast of Turkey, there are numerous stunning resorts. One such little resort community on the Aegean Sea coast is Altinkum, which can be reached from Bodrum Airport in just 90 minutes by car. The town's name derives from the beaches' golden sand. Altinkum is short for "golden sands." It is a beautiful sight to see the lovely golden sand beaches gradually shelving into the Aegean Sea's sparkling turquoise water. The resort in Altinkum offers three beaches.
There are several loungers and umbrellas available on the main beach for beachside relaxation. Alternatively, you might swim in the Aegean Sea's lovely, clear blue water. There are also several water sports available; kids like riding pedal boats.
You can take relaxing boat tours that circle the bay and the Castle. Numerous seafront pubs and eateries may be found on the second beach. The third beach is a more isolated, more compact beach.
There is a lot of sightseeing you can do in addition to swimming and tanning on the beach. You may explore a lot of fascinating historical sites close to Altinkum. The Temple of Apollo, where you can see the well-known Medusa head covered in snakes, is just ten minutes drive from the resort's main building. The size of the temple's columns will astound you.
Visit the remains of Ephesus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, for a lengthier day trip. It is an excellent example of a restored classical city on the Mediterranean and provides insight into Roman life. According to legend, St. Paul and the Virgin Mary traveled to Ephesus together as she neared death. Additionally, it is believed that St. John spent his final years here. Over his grave, a shrine called the Basilica of St. John was built following his passing.
